Hormone Replacement Therapy To Maintain Heart Health

Hormone replacement therapy is used to treat menopausal symptoms in women. Most of the women prefer it because it relieves hot flashes and some other menopausal symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy helps in reducing the risk of heart disease. Women have lower heart diseases risk than men have but after menopause, this risk increases that might be due to low estrogen levels after menopause. It may also occur due to low HGH levels. Human growth hormone therapy is effective in balancing HGH levels.

Studies show mixed results of hormone replacement therapy in treating menopausal symptoms. These treatments can increase the risk of heart disease, blood clots and strokes in postmenopausal women using hormone therapy.

Here are some ways to lower the risk of heart disease.

  1. Take hormone therapy as it does not increase the risk of heart disease. Studies show that estrogen therapy in early years help in reducing menopausal symptoms and protect your heart.
  2. Take low dose for the shortest amount of time needed to treat symptoms.
  3. Use a single form of hormone replacement therapy or HRT at a time. Estrogen and progestin are available in many forms, including pills, skin patches, gels, vaginal creams, etc. For vaginal problems, you can use its creams, ring or tablet.
  4. Take a healthy diet and do exercise. Avoid unhealthy habits like smoking, or tobacco products. Eat a healthy diet, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat protein. This healthy life style helps in regulating blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

It is advised to use these treatments after doctor’s advice for safe and effective results.
