All Muslims should desire to be closer to Allah. When you are closer to Allah, it is easy to get your wishes accepted if you are closer to Allah because Allah likes those who pray to Him and want to be close to him. Therefore, if you want to be close to Allah, you should follow the things mentioned below.

1. Zikr: The best way to be closer to Allah is to engage into zikr with him. Allah says in the Quran, “O ye who believe, remember Allah much. And glorify Him morning and evening” (33:42-43). Therefore, the Prophet (PBUH) used to engage in zikr all the time. The Prophet also told his companions that Remembrance of allah is much better than meeting the enemies in the battlefield and spending wealth on the message of Allah.



2. Dua and Supplication: Another way to stay close to Allah is to raise your hands in dua and supplication as often as possible. it is only Allah who can answer your prayers and fulfill all your wishes. Allah says in the Quran, “Is not He (best) who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and who relieves its suffering.” (Quran 27:62) Duas are not wasted and if Allah does not answer any prayer, he rewards his servants more for the prayers unanswered.

Therefore, if you want to be closer to Allah, you should perform the tasks mentioned above. You should also read and recite Quran as often as possible. Quran teaching and learning is also a way to be closer to Allah.
